Does anyone fancy forming a 'mastermind' group? :)

For players looking to take their games to the next level.

I joined acehigh of course since finding ranking hero, and it's awesome - but this will be a different kind of group. This is for focussed group study / peer support. This is a smaller group which will be very focussed on getting through the microstakes and beyond.

I'm thinking to have a skype group  - where the group members can chat amongst themselves every day to share hands and motivate each other, share insight etc.

 - Requirements would be you currently play anything from 2nl -  50/100nl online, and are looking to improve.

 - You will play poker at least 3/7 days a week online.

 - You have skype

 - You are committed to improviing and moving up out of micro limits

 - I don't think the current stake you are on is that important, the main thing is you want to improve, help others improve, and take your game to the next level, and are committed to all of that stuff.

 - You are positive

i think together we could form a powerful resource for each other to take our games to the next level.

Let me know if you're interested! Depending on interest I'll set something up!!

Why you don't create this group on RKH Skilful ? :)

It's easy and you can still have members, followers and to post there to animate them :)

well up for it mate, i could def do with some of this....a few heads bouncing ideas off eachother can never be a bad thing : D

On it like donkeykong as they say......i've got a few Tournament reviews to do this week (am behind on my homework haha) but as soon as i do, i'll get a bit more proactive an we can chat about this for sure.......

good stuff dude : )

Awesome B16! That's two of us then! I think it'll really help with our progress.I read about how powerful these kind of groups can be in a book ages ago and have been meaning to set something up. I like the idea of a small group so even if it's just us to start with I'm definately up for it.

@Elena RKH  Great idea! I never knew you could do that, i'll explore over the next few days and get the group setup.

Look forward to chatting next week when you've finished your reviews @B165L1Ck75

I think we have prob read the same books from the sounds of it lol...

i have tried a few times to make a small study group, but i found peoples timetables clashed so much it was hard to maintain, so it ended up with me and just one other dude(who ended up becoming my study buddy). It's hard to find people who are passionate about poker to the point that it oozes out of every orifice hahaha...

But i do believe these groups are definately the key to accelerated learning for sure, and with your proactive, productive and positive mindset as a kind of "guidepost" to the kind of players we should be "studying" with i think it'll be an amazing opportunity to "bump brains"...

Fwiw ( my heads buzzing with ideas already) to make sure the group is on a level playing fied(studywise), a condition to joining could be something like;  must use tracking software(hud+database etc) AND  own either Flopzilla or Combonator(impossible to study without one of these two imo).....they're pretty cheap from what i remember  and are endlessly useful.

Not sure if you're familiar with Matthew Janda or any of his vid series but he done an amazing "Flopzilla" study series...this was a huge turning point in advancing my thinking away from the ABC style that i'd been playing for so long...i could quite easily send you the first video for you to have a look and if it excites you as much as it did me we could use his review techniques as a "template" for reviewing hands as close to "Game Theory Optimal" as possible once we have all sat together and pre-defined some hand ranges to input into the software etc....

LOL omg what've you started? you've created a monster hahahaha...i'll shut up now ; )

PS;  if you PM me your email addy on here or FB i'll send you part one of this vid and see what you think(if you haven't seen it already that is obv)

But yeah m8, feel free to bombard me with ideas for whatever....structures , formats (classroom / replayer session etc), theres a world of stuff we can look into for sure.....my head is chaotic atm so could prob do with your levelheaded-ness to stop me going off on mad tangents lolol.....

Exciting stuff man...lets do it.....

Very good idea! I'd like to join to a group cause I'm a newbie poker player. But first of all I should learn English. When I'm done I'll contact You :)

Hey @archywraith great, dont worry about English, your English seems pretty good to me! I'll tag you when the group's up and running!

Thanks @Skilful
