Actually @Khaine Dean is not wrong, with a 2k big blind and a 5k open (3k more) the minimum raise is usually 8k (another 3k on top). This is the case in most part of the world with notable exceptions being Dublin and France.

Not only is it legal but sometimes recommended. @Shaun Deeb is a big fan of this play online, for example, against multi tablers that raise a lot but don't pay enough attention and play in robotic mode. They'll just avoid 3bet situations a lot and fold way too much even to this min reraise if they know you're aggressive postflop #leak 

Now I'm not saying if I like the play or not, I'm the jury here can't give too much away... But it's legal and can work in some situations :)
