Women in Poker Hall of Fame Finalists - Allyn Jaffrey Shulman

WiPHoF Board Chair @Lupe Soto“We have an amazing group of qualified women for this year’s ballot and the voting process is critical to the success of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame. After careful screening of qualified nominees, voting begins on April 29th by the current members of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame, the Board of Directors and selected media members."

One of these amazing women is @Allyn Jaffrey Shulman, best known for winning the WSOP Seniors World Championship in 2012. Allyn has a long history in poker, with 62 ITM since 2001 and a total of $1,284,724 in live earnings.

Allyn Jaffrey Shulman: "A winning player has to be able to fold aces."

She is from Brooklyn, NY but lived in Los Angeles for 25 years, working as a criminal defense attorney. Allyn Jaffrey Shulman now resides in Las Vegas (when she is not travelling the world) and is an active supporter of the legalization of online poker in the United States.

The 2012 victory is Allyn's most noteworthy and inspiring achievement not only in terms of prize money ($603,713!) - though this puts her in second place after @Vanessa Selbst in the 24-month earnings ranking;

Not only because of the gold bracelet in itself  - though it remains the most coveted trophy in any poker player's showcase and makes Allyn one of the few women who have won a bracelet in an event other than a ladies' tournament.

What makes it even more remarkable is the fact that she topped a huge field of 4,128 entrants in the largest WSOP Seniors Event (open to players aged 50 and over) in history.

Whether or not she is officially inducted in the Women in Poker Hall of Fame this year, Allyn Jaffrey Shulman has certainly earned her place in poker women's "hall of inspiration" :)
