¦¦ SOOOOOON ¦¦ There are still some player packages available! I'll be in charge of the English coverage on site. I will post the links here in the next couple of days.
¦¦ SET OVER SET ¦¦ My PokerBelgique team event lastet for 4 hands today. First to bust. I think it's the first time this happens to me in 7 years of Poker.
Blinds are 50/50 and the starting stacks are 20k with levels of 30'.
UTG raises to 250, 2 callers. I open black 55 and decide to raise to 850. BB calls, UTG calls. 3 players for a 57Q rainbow flop.
BB checks, UTG bets 1150. I call, BB calls.
Turn: A super rainbow
BB checks, UTG bets 1740, I raise to 4150.
BB folds, UTG re-raises to 9200.
I started the hand with approximatively 17k and I have 11k behind at that point. It's clear he is not weak. I know I 'only' have bottom set and I suspect he might have raised QQ or AA UTG but, on the other hand, it's maybe an AK that is happy to cbet and hit his A on the turn or even AQ, A7 or A5. there's no other hand that pops into my mind that could reasonably raise in that spot.
I seriously think of it for a while because his raise really surprises me but I decide to push for 3k more knowing I'm not making my opponent fold here. I just decide that it would be too sick of beat if he has a set too. It's not like I am making a move or anything like that. I still truly like my hand.
He insta-calls and tables 77 for a better set and rivers quads.
After thinking about the hand for while after I busted I concluded that I could find a fold here if I have a mega read on my opponent or if there's been history between us. On the 4th hand of a tournament against a guy I barley know, I don't know whether I will ever find a fold on this turn.
¦¦ HAND OF THE NIGHT ¦¦ Yesterday night brought again its set of weird hands and the winner is: a nice guy min-raises UTG. A 6bb stack shoves in middle position. We are quite far from the money. Avg stack in 25bb. A 13bb stack shoves behind in the blinds. Our opener tanks and tanks and tanks and tanks and tanks and tanks and ... TIME! He folds KK face up with a stack of 30bb because he was afraid someone had an A. Not Aces, 'an A'. Tight!
The super short stack happened to hold J7 off and the reshover flipped over 8c6c. Nice fold with KK, Sir!
The board eventually and absolutely naturally gives 8c6c a flush on the turn on a Kc5s2c Tc board but a paired 2 on the river would have given KK a full house.
A few minutes after the hand, our freind who folded KK face up preflop was still asking himself whether this really happened and as a freind passed by our table, he attempted a couple of times to communicate with him in a discrete manner using bizarre gestures. The guy passing by sure saw that his freind was trying to tell him something but you could see on his face that he had no clue what his freind was trying to tell him. Then, suddenly, the mysterious communicator stood up speaking out loud and clear: 'Dude, go roll one. Fuck! I just folded kings.'
¦¦ POKER BELGIQUE TEAM EVENT ¦¦ ONE MORE PLAYER NEEDED. We are looking for somebody not too spewy, not too tilty, not to cally but rather raisy, re-raisy and shovy to complete our team for tomorrows PokerBelgique fun team tournament in Namur. Me and the two persons tagged in the picture are in the team so far.
