¦¦ SET OVER SET ¦¦ My PokerBelgique team event lastet for 4 hands today. First to bust. I think it's the first time this happens to me in 7 years of Poker.
Blinds are 50/50 and the starting stacks are 20k with levels of 30'.
UTG raises to 250, 2 callers. I open black 55 and decide to raise to 850. BB calls, UTG calls. 3 players for a 57Q rainbow flop.
BB checks, UTG bets 1150. I call, BB calls.
Turn: A super rainbow
BB checks, UTG bets 1740, I raise to 4150.
BB folds, UTG re-raises to 9200.
I started the hand with approximatively 17k and I have 11k behind at that point. It's clear he is not weak. I know I 'only' have bottom set and I suspect he might have raised QQ or AA UTG but, on the other hand, it's maybe an AK that is happy to cbet and hit his A on the turn or even AQ, A7 or A5. there's no other hand that pops into my mind that could reasonably raise in that spot.
I seriously think of it for a while because his raise really surprises me but I decide to push for 3k more knowing I'm not making my opponent fold here. I just decide that it would be too sick of beat if he has a set too. It's not like I am making a move or anything like that. I still truly like my hand.
He insta-calls and tables 77 for a better set and rivers quads.
After thinking about the hand for while after I busted I concluded that I could find a fold here if I have a mega read on my opponent or if there's been history between us. On the 4th hand of a tournament against a guy I barley know, I don't know whether I will ever find a fold on this turn.
Thoughts? Anyone?
