How does that sequence happen?
Ellis missed a 3, Bridges and Ward come back in and Bridges misses a rushed 3 badly.
Minnesota misses a wild shot, MSU gets the rebound with 25 seconds left and 1 timeout. Its best two players were sitting.
60-55 , with 44.5 seconds left. MSU lineup, on D: Tum, Ellis, McQuaid, Goins and Langford.
Total grinder game between NCAA teams. Somebody had to win. Minnesota was tougher in the second half.
The same curious late-game substitution patterns that crept up at Illinois were there again for MSU and Izzo. Puzzling stuff.
so MSU had to get a shot up without its two best players on the floor, down 5, with less than 20 seconds left in the game.
Let's be clear: Bridges and Ward were not in for Minnesota's last possession. Gophers missed, and then ...
Kenny Goins.
