@TuckonSports Unanswered question, I think. Industry should be far from steady-state. Should be profitable in steady-state, in my opinion.
Now… Devastating reg environment=> endless lawyer fees=> prize pools MUST fill to make DFS cash flow viable=> rake arg enhanced
Unfortunate dynamic going on now… Earlier, Venture capital enthusiasm=> growth imperative=> Overlay for players, rake arg diminished
That’s different than rake, b/c rake is only achieved when contests fill.
The initial conception of daily fantasy was: you post the total prize pool first, then entrants may or may not come.
Conclusion, as always: Too many lawyers. Too much complexity, not enough capability.
“a portion (ranging from 6% to 14%) of the fees collection are not paid out to the participants but are retained by the gaming site”
“Indiv pay a fee to participate in a league, which fees fund the pot of money used to pay out the participants as their earned pts direct.”
Don't do it! I predict an @EpicureanDeal trajectory. See you in a few months. https://t.co/dXcplGpqRx
