Born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1967, Kathy Liebert earned her place in poker history in 2002, as the winner of the inaugural Party Poker Million tournament. She bested 139 players (including 3rd place finisher Phil Hellmuth) to win the first Texas Hold'em with a $1,000,000 first-place prize! To this day, it remains her biggest cash and secures her place among the highest earning female players in the world, where Liebert is second only to Vanessa Selbst.
Even in 2002, Liebert was already an established player on the live circuit, with dozens of tournament cashes. She has remained as active through the years and is currently the world's number one female player by final tables (150) and paid places (262).
