Just as the spell was broken in Rio de Janeiro last night and Germany became the first European football team to win the World Cup on South-American soil, chances are improving for Europe in the #WSOP2014 #mainevent, with a chip leader from Sweden and many other players from all parts of the continent.
There have only been two European champions in the past ten years: @Peter Eastgate (2008) and @Pius Heinz (2011). Day 6 chip leader @Martin Jacobson may well be the next one.
An unusually colorful group of 27 players are advancing to Day 7 and will play down to the final #NovemberNine; here are the European hopefuls:
@Andoni Larrabe Sanchez | @Felix Vincent Stephensen | @Jorryt Van Hoof |
@Maximilian Senft | @Andrey Zaichenko | @Yorane Kerignard |
@Craig McCorkell | @Iaron Lightbourne | @Oscar Kemps |
