The weekend was behind most players and the 2016 SCOOP weekday schedule was underway which included a shorter short-handed set of tournaments. For some players, even six-handed tables are a little too claustrophobic so something was created between that and heads-up matches. Event #31 was a No Limit Tournament with 4-Max tables up until the final one.

The low buy-in tournament drew a huge crowd of nearly 5,000 players.

For the low low price of $27, there were 4,972 entrants getting a piece of the SCOOP action to create a prize pool worth more than $122,000. The tournament paid out money to the last 640 players and the field quickly hit the money on the first day.

The super short-handed format kept things moving at a brisk pace all day and only 12 players remained when the tournament paused after Level 37. There were two WCOOP champions still in contention, 2014 WCOOP $10K High Roller winner Vicente "vicenfish" Delgado and 2013 WCOOP $215 No Limit Draw victor -Rebus1980-, along with Narcis "Narcisus90" Nedelcu and his two Super Tuesday victories (plus a recent final table in SCOOP Event #6-M).

The action didn't slow down once they hit the restart for Day 2. The field lost one table's worth of players in the first 15 minutes and they were down to the final table five before 30 minutes ticked off the restart clock. That happened when they lost three players in three straight hands.

Delgado lost to Nedelcu with [qc][js] versus [ad][ah] followed by chip leader camikater sending out Sevastos on the next hand at the table with [ac][js] holding against [as][7s]. The tables were balanced and -Rebus1980- dispatched Czekam18 with [kd][ks] versus [ad][5h] to quickly set the final table in the three consecutive hands.

PokerDave476 drops quickly, eliminated in 5th

PokerDave476 began the final table with the second shortest stack, but his "short stack" was still 100 big blinds deep. Nothing went right from the start of the final table for PokerDave476 and his 7 million chip stack was decimated. With only 700,000 left, he moved all-in under the gun with [ad][ts] and joaomarcello called with [9s][7c] from the big blind.

PokerDave476 needed to dodge the two live cards to stay alive but joaomarcello binked the [7h][6c][3d] flop. The [2d] turn was no help and the [6s] river sent PokerDave476 out in 5th place.

-Rebus1980- get slick, eliminated in 4th

Suited slick is a big hand in a four-player game and WCOOP champ -Rebus1980- picked it up before camikater raised in front of him. Not to let the opportunity pass, -Rebus1980- shipped in over the top and the chip leader called with [ks][9h].

-Rebus1980- was holding [ac][kc] and the [6h][5s][2h] flop was of no consequence. The [kh] paired them both and added a flush draw for camikater, but it was the live card nine that paired for camikater on the [9s] river. A tough beat for the former COOP champion and he was gone in 4th place for $3,148.

Nedelcu runs bad, eliminated in 3rd

Narcis "Narcisus90" Nedelcu had plenty of success in the past, including his SCOOP final table last week, but he was unlucky to not make it closer to a title in this one. He put his chips in good but it did not end well for the Romanian.

He called a small blind shove from joaomarcello and was at risk with his [ts][td] against [7d][5d]. The first piece of bad news came on the [8d][4d][2c] flop to give joaomarcello a flush/gutshot draw then the Brazilian paired the [7s] turn to give him 16 outs on the river.

It was the flush to get him there with the [2d] river for the unlucky KO for Nedelcu.

camikater denies Brazil another SCOOP, wins Event #31-L title

joaomarcello began with a small chip lead then extended it on the first hand of the heads-up battle. He picked up a huge pot when his [td][8d] rivered a 8 million chip straight.

But that's where the good things ended for Brazil's chance at another SCOOP title. camikater quickly turned it around and took the lead in a 10 million chip pot without a showdown. He continued to pick up the bigger pots until the final hand, one that wouldn't get the chips in until the very end.

camikater called a button raise from joaomarcello to see the [ts][8d][7c] flop, then check/raised to 1.4 million. joaomarcello called the aggressive move and camikater led out for 1.7 million after the [qs] turn followed by another call from joaomarcello before the final river [ks] came down.

camikater bet enough to put joaomarcello all-in and he called with the rivered pair of kings [kd][9h]. It was the second best hand between two players as camikater tabled a rivered flush [9s][3s] to take the pot, the championship, and the $14,772 top prize.

joaomarcello made the most of Day 2 chances but was unable to finish off a tough opponent. He added $8,949 to his bankroll for the efforts while camikater earned his first major online title and can now call himself a SCOOP champion.
