I have just tried NL10 for the first time, kept sayin I would move up a stake when my balance reached 500euro but I just wouldnt take the risk of the next level.

I thought I would give it a try as the last mission on Unibet this month requires you to complete 2 minor missions for 250 points for an NL10 ticket(completing minors at higher stakes get you bigger tickets).

It wasnt as bad as i thought even though there were better players, there were a lot less maniacs than I normally see at NL4.

I managed to play  200ish flops and am down 2.26 euros which I am quite happy with as I thought I would lose quite a bit more at my first attempt at NL10.

I think having a comfortable balance for the stake I am trying helps take away some pressure and I have been very nitty with my BRM and some people have said to me I should have moved up earlier, if I lose 5 buyins I will go back down to NL4 and rebuild and try again.

Hoping I can stay up a level, its took me just over a year to get here after some good wins and then bad decisions putting my balance back to zero. I have managed to rebuild from zero in April with help from a Unibet promo and the competion on here.

Lets see if I can avoid the bad decisions and build the roll a bit more.

@b165l1ck75 your right its so easy to ramble on and on and on. I request that rankinghero cut the character count down on these posts to save our keyboards and save us from boring people to sleep

i love reading all this stuff m8, makes you realise you're not alone in all the crap we go thru, the decisions we have to make long term and short term plus trying to be consistent and efficient, we should pat ourselves on the back for effort for sure....

FWIW i was the same at the micros for a while, i stayed lower for ages cos obv players were wilder etc, i waited til i had 400 i think b4 i moved up to 10nl, i find though that different sites definately have diff skill levels through all the stakes...good table selection gets all that more important as we climb up i reckon...

Anyway keep up the good grind man, sounds like you're doing all the right things : ) GL

Only joking ;) nice read! good luck at NL10 sure you'll manage it fine! Keep crushing

@Skilful haha the rankinghero server needed a new hard drive to fit your last 2 posts on

@B165L1Ck75  I have noticed the replies on here to seem to be a lot friendlier than some I have read else where, seen people ask whats seems like an ok questtion and get shot down in flames on other sites. Thanks for the positive comments.

100% agree Jonny, i got severely worn down by"idiotic" responses on sites(which i wont mention by name) but i'm sure we're thinking of the same ones lol.....

RankingHero has no idiots, muppets or morons patronising our inquisitive minds thankfully...

I'm a big advocate of harsh criticism to improve at poker(it has to be done) but theres criticism and then theres downright personal attacks.....the sites out there seem to be bloated with pretentious attackers which teaches us nothing at all.....

Have met some bloody nice guys/girls on here for sure, poker can be quite isolating but thankfully RankingHero is connecting us all together no matter the skill level.....

Onwards and upwards people (however hard it may be, we're not alone).....

Btw, if you ever want another great place to talk poker in a friendly envirnoment... you can get a bunch of good guys/gals on our Facebook group "AceHighPokerGroup"...feel free to come join us if ya like....we rail eachothers games throughout the day/night etc while posting hands/theories/funnies and just about anything to do with poker really.... #PokerAddictsUnite : D

My name on FB is Delano Nunes, but you can also message @Mark Duguid or @William Calder

we'd love to have you on board m8, we have a lot of books and articles in our "files" section plus players of every level and format who support and help eachother out at every opportunity no matter what the issue may be......

Hello Jonny. I'm a cash game player myself and it's good to see you are doing well and most importantly practising good BRM! I agree you should probably have moved up a bit earlier. I've always stuck to 30 bi's at the microstakes and think that it is more than enough at these stakes. I've never come close to blowing my roll in a few years playing cash. As i move up in stakes i'm aware i'll need to shift the number upwards though.

As you know, 4nl is super soft on Unibet and if you have been crushing that you will notice the difference at 10nl but ultimately should still do well.

I would also like to add my backing to Delano's suggestion that you should join the Ace High Poker group on facebook. It's a very friendly group full of people who are passionate about poker. Whether you want to discuss strategy, talk about the latest poker news, have a laugh or just moan about how bad you are running there will always be people willing to chat!

I will have a look at ace high on facebook, I did join on here and didnt realise there was a facebook page as well.
