What Would You Do? BONUS HAND
@MSPTeric @Ozaawaakoons
The previous hands have all been from a final table of an $1,100 tournament, with life changing money ($80k-$100k) for 1st place.
This scenario is from a friendly home game.
Blinds $1-$2 with a mandatory $4 straddle
Basically a loose/aggressive, fun table … limps around to the Small Blind (tightest player at the table) who raises to $16, the Big Blind folds, the Hero is in the straddle with [Jd][7d] and calls the extra $12, knowing the rest of the limpers will come along – effectively making his pot odds much better.
5 players to the flop with $82 pot
Flop [2h][Qd][5d]
Small Blind checks.
Hero bets $85 (isolating the pre-flop raiser, a tight/passive player).
Hijack raises “all-in” (skipping UTG +1 turn).
UTG +1 says, “saved me from a mistake” and folds.
Cut off folds, Small Blind calls for his remaining $85.
$337 in the main pot – effectively $204 in the side pot, you need to call $204.
Hero, “you got a flush draw?”
Villain, “fold `em and live to fight another day…”
Hero, “what do you got, Mr. Kyle?”
Villain, “what do you think I have?”
Hero, “flush draws the easy thing, but why would you just ship it with a flush draw?”
Villain, “why indeed?”
