Five things for the weekend on PokerStars

Five things not to miss on PokerStars this weekend.

As we head into the weekend we take a look forward to, and back on, the top stories from the PokerStars world.

Spin & Go into July

It's becoming a habit - extending promotions and such. Now we've done it again with two promotions extended to run into July.

First there is the new special period of $1 million Spin & Go tournaments. This million dollar promotion now runs until the end of July, giving you plenty of opportunity to spin your way to a million and what we can promise will be a day you'll never forget.

It's the fourth time we've run this Spin & Go promotion, with buy-ins of just $5. In that time we've made what we can only describe as pretty enjoyable phone calls to nine winners. By the end of next month we hope to at least have a tenth. Could it be you? Click here to read more.

More pyramids discovered

It's not just Spin & Go's that have been extended. The same goes for the Pyramid cash game promotion, which now continues until July 10.

If you're not familiar with the format, every day PokerStars players can win anywhere between $1 and $5,000 by completing a daily pyramid puzzle, details of which you can find here. It's easy, fun, and available to everyone in games as little as $0.05/$0.10 (and above).  You'll find all the details you need on the Pyramid promotion page

Meanwhile over in Las Vegas

The World Series of Poker is now in its second week and already Team Pros have been part of the drama.

George Danzer had arguably the best week. He picked up $103,230 for finishing thirdin the in the $10,000 Stud Championship.

For Danzer, who already has three WSOP bracelets to his name, it was his deepest run since 2014, and Team PokerStars' first final table of the 2016 Series.

Andre Akkari recorded the second.

The Brazilian finished sixth in the $1,500 HORSE event eventually won by Ryan D'Angelo.

Brad Willis wrote about Akkari's progress this week, and that of others including Naoya Kihara, which you can read here.

Marvellous Marbella

For those who prefer their sunshine a little closer to home (or at least on this side of the Atlantic) the UKIPT is joining forces with the Estrellas Poker Tour and heading to Marbella for a summer festival on the Spanish coast.

With a buy-in of €1,100 it's the type of event that will attract a big field, and could even provide the jumping off point for a cross ocean trip to the WSOP.

It all begins on June 15, running until the final table on June 19 at the Casino Marbella. Some 14 events make up the festival programme, including a €2,200 high roller and the €330 Marbella Cup. Get all the details of the festival on the UKIPT website.

EPT Not Live

The #EPTNotLive podcast turns 50 this week. A half century of episodes are now in the can, this latest ready to be downloaded.

"Joe is in Las Vegas, where he's been hanging out with the likes of Phil Hellmuth Jr, Antonio Esfandiari and 'Breaking Bad' star Aaron Paul. He's also been losing hundreds of dollars at the tables and has managed to get into a 'Social Media Beef' with Ludovic Geilich. Meanwhile, James has been playing some poker at The Vic in London, and talks about being bluffed in a mi cro-stakes cash game and butchering a hand in a tournament. There's a round-up of PokerStars live events around the world (#PlayOnPokerStars), and Scott Adamson, a Canadian living in China, shows off his knowledge of the 'Hangover' movies in this week's edition of 'Superfan vs Stapes'. #EPTNotLive
