Mike's min-raise before the flop allows him to narrow KGB's range down to what's probably best described as 'two cards'. He then excels himself by not betting out a flop that's going to be called (or raised) very often.

The good news for Mike is that KGB seems to have recently suffered a severe brain injury and therefore bets 5 x pot. The bad news for Mike is that he's spent two hours on a voyage of discovery where he needs to justify himself by outplaying his Nemesis but when it comes to convincing his viewers that he's transformed his game he simply flops the nuts while said Nemesis throws money at him. Easy.

Not satisfied with dumping chips in the pot on the flop and eliminating any value, KGB ignores the fact that Mike actually called so he pots the brick on the turn even though he's very obviously only beating overpairs and, at worst, AT. If he hadn't banged his head after smoking copious amounts of crack earlier in the afternoon then he'd recognise that he's most likely up against 89, TT, 77, 66, T7 or maybe T6s. Mike psychoanalyses the hand in an absurd manner and check-calls. Of course he check-calls. What else are you going to do? He has the nuts and, unless the board pairs, he's likely to take his opponent's stack.

The river is a disastrous card for KGB as it gives him trips but JJ, QQ and KK and some two pair combos will fold to a large bet. There are also only three combos of AT so it's probably better to be betting reasonably small if he's ahead of the range. Still, KGB's got to pick up an important collection of Oreo Cookies so he might as will just get the money in there and head to the shop.

I look forward to Rounders 2, where Mike and KGB go to one of James Bond's home games and everybody gets smashed on Martini whilst betting the first number that comes into their heads, regardless of their actual holdings.
