Unibet Open CopenHagen, TV Table, Day 2. |
The blinds are 1,600/3,200-400 ante. Day 2 has just started and you bring a stack of 65,000 at the TV table, an average stack. Nobody really knows you - as this is your first major event, and you expect people may underestimate you. You are first to speak at a table of 9 players. Before you look at your hand, you decide that you will be on the aggressive side early on today, set an image for later. |
You decide to mix things up, and raise with A♠9♥ |
Everybody passes except the Button, a young grinder, who has you covered by less than a big blind. There is now 24,400 in the pot The Flop Comes Q♠J♠4♦ Action is on you. You have 56,800 left. |
You bet 6,400, less than a quarter of the pot. |
Your opponent takes a full minute to think about it, and calls without blinking. There is now 36,400 in the pot The Turn: 10♥ |
You quickly bet 25,000, half your remaining chips |
For an agonising 4 minutes, your opponent thinks about it and looks like he can go either way. Finally he folds, and you show your bluff without saying anything. |
Our Jury is now reviewing your responses and we’ll announce the winners soon.
Just to be clear, we do not think there is only one way to play this hand and we’ll give you our reasoning for rewarding the best analyses... whether or not you acted like Sam.
You can find all the steps of the hand and members comments on the hashtag #UnibetHand.

on the turn, an ace or a peak, maybe a blank, are the best news
William Calder 10 Apr 2015
bet 9k an the best cards for us on turn are two an then a 3 two low cards that dont change a thing if we believed ace high was good or that our opponents holdings were not strong enough to call our river bet all in

It's possible to play a suited hand like a connector 4♦5♦ but also 3♦5♦Raise in this position assumes a big hand, perhaps a premium, especially whith only 20BB, and not a hand also hardly playable face to a re-raise.
