Martin Jacobson originally studied to become a chef, until he started playing professionally in 2008. In 2014 he won the World Series of Poker Main Event and cashed 10,000,000 dollars. Currently, his live tournament winings amount to nearly $15,000,000 dollars, with $11 million from WSOP cashes alone.
Jacobson wore the patch of Raising for Effective Giving (REG) at the November Nine final table. REG was founded by Philipp Gruissem and Igor Kurganov to facilitate donations by poker pros and to identify cost-effective charities and projects in need of support. Members pledge to donate 2% of their gross poker winnings on a quarterly basis.
