With its poker-friendly legal and tax framework, not to mention the great climate and scenery, Malta is a favorite relocation destination for operators and players alike. As the @European Poker Tour takes over St.Julians for ten action-packed days, all live poker roads will be leading to the @Casino at Portomaso and though it is reputed to have an excellent and affordable brasserie, there will be a lot of poker souls to feed.
Here are three helpful blogs by poker pros sharing their favorite hangouts!
If you're wondering what pastizzi are and where to get them in Malta, head for @Isaac Haxton's PokerStars blog. Ike has compiled a useful guide to St. Julian's eateries, including grocery shopping tips and the only 24-hour restaurant in the neighborhood!
@Luca Moschitta and @Sofia Lovgren are among the many poker pros who've chosen Malta as their home base so they certainly know the place well. In his travel tips, Luca offers advice not just about restaurants, but also about where to stay, how to get around, what to do and how to get the most of your hotel internet :)
Since Luca and Sofia are both members of RankingHero, perhaps they will care to share if the restaurant where they recently toasted Sofia's birthday (see photo above) is in Luca's list of recommendations :)
The third blog is by former partypoker sponsored player and presenter @Kara Scott who in 2013 hosted PokerListings Battle of Malta and wrote about '3 Incredibly Beautiful And Fantastic Places in Malta You Probably Didn’t Even Know Existed!'
You will find more sightseeing ideas in this post, including Popeye's Village and the Azure Window, featured in the Game of Thrones and other grand film productions:
By now you're probably daydreaming about relocating yourself so you might be interested in this video from Poker Refugees :)
