Skilful

So I was looking into UK tax law for poker recently. I often hear that poker is tax free in the UK but I thought I'd do some research to clarify 100% Yes, sure is apparently! I found this article from HMRC.

BIM22017 - Meaning of trade: exceptions and alternatives: betting and gambling - the professional gamblerA professional gambler is not taxable on their gambling winningswww.hmrc.gov.uk

How cool is that? It's pretty huge I mean if you can get to the stage where you can make £1600 per month from poker which I would imagine would be achieveable for a good player who worked hard climbing up from microstakes then... that would be the equivalent of about a £29k per year job, thanks to having no tax to pay!
