#PokerNugget #Bluffing

My tip for bluffing, is don't think too deeply on it, pick the right spots, and once you've decided, then go with it.

Dont think too deeply

He thinks, I think, he thinks etc... can get you into a lot of trouble I think.

I have heard pros on televised events speaking about 'well I knew he thought I might be bluffing in this spot, and if i was bluffing I would be acting like Y, and so I acted like Y to make him think I was bluffing when in fact I wasn't bluffing etc.' This kind of thinking can get you tangled up very often.

I do go to level 1 thinking when I bluff live though, I simply think - what kind of image do I need to project to get this guy to think I have a really strong hand. I really enjoy this part of the game, as it's a little like acting! :)

I made a mistake once... I thought I had flopped the straight and did my very best job of making it look like I was bluffing... the guy tanked for ages and I did my few special moves (haha) that make it look like i'm bluffing... and he stacks off with second pair!!

Then when I say , straight and show my cards, the dealer looks a little sorry for me, and says... you haven't got a straight. No i had misread my cards! So a top tip for bluffing, or making it look like you're bluffing... is make sure you have read your hand right in the first place! (yes i had, had a few drinks by this time )

Pick the right spots

You have to pick a spot to bluff that makes sense. Sometimes you can rep a really strong hand and it just wont look right and you will never be believed.

Take this cat for instance: -

He's cute. He's doing his best job at bluffing... but do we believe him?

NO! Because it looks wrong. It's out of place.

This guy however... is doing a bit better, he's picked a better spot to bluff and his bluff makes a little bit more sense

When you've decided go with it

Once you've picked the line you are taking, stick with it.

To do this you have to believe the bluff yourself! As you are playing convince yourself that you have the hand you are repping.

Just like this guy did...

Then crush themmmm !

one time happened to me too, i miss read my pocket card and i bet a straight but oppo had drunk it and fold... i usually get a last look to my cards before muckin, when i check before muckin i had not straight...

i'm not very nice to bluff , but usually when i do it i try to do with a standard bet size, when people bluff many time have input to doing too much suspect bigger size, a nut point maybe will do a check/lowbet to induce oppo to raise back in bluff, or try to exctract valure with a proper half pot or 3/4 pot...

the classic raise allin on a flush draw not really works so much with all opponents, if doing the mistake to do it to wrong person he will call his top pair/double pair the same, it's also too much classic...push allin on a draw board it's better if you really have nuts into entry levels live tourney, oppo levels is so low many people just not consider dangerous a flush draw board, they not see it many time and call you fixed.

bluffing is for sure one aspect of my poker where i have to work a lot, i usually bluff very little and only with high blinds levels.

i think is the worst way to be busted a missed bluff, that's why i not do it so much, my luck to found oppo always full is very high.

have a good reading about oppo hands is basilar to try some good bluff.

Hey all, hope you had a great weekend!

Here is my Malta update as promised, week 1 of my action plan has now passed.

Thought I would record a short video update each week instead of writing everything into the post as it's probabally easier to watch than it is to read.

Had a good week this week gone as I spent some quality time with family for a few daysthis was awesome, but did cut into my play time by a couple of days, definately well worth it though!

Almost had an entry into the Bigger $100 ; I entered a 4 tier sat at the bottom for 60fpps, and won 3/4 of the sats, and busted the last one... close though!

Here's a reminder of my Action Plan - I'm following this to fund my trip to Malta which I won with Ranking Hero.

Target was to make $100 in the week just gone... here's how I got on: -
